Don't worry, we won't let this happen again...but while I was at the gym this morning Derek got a phone call while he was changing the laundry. Libby loves to climb in the dishwasher, but I think this was even more fun for her.

She's a Norton
Derek bought some dark chocolate Mounds. Libby loves them...as you can see by the ring of chocolate around her mouth. BTW, one of our friends has a child Libby's age who hasn't ever had candy or even french fries. Did I feel a slight twinge of guilt when I heard this? Not even a little. I feel that Libby should be well rounded--in her tastes that is. I am also making sure she LOVES BodyPump so that like her mom, she can indulge in a treat now and then and burn those calories through her love of exercise.

Libby Mowing
We bought this mower for Libby a couple of months ago. I was hoping it would encourage her to walk. Finally, she is starting to get the hang of it!
Prego Update
Today I went in and I am 1 cm dilated! Hooray! The doctor said any time would be fine now. I didn't start dilating last time until I was already a week overdue. This time I am still 20 some odd days from my due date. Hooray! Still, it could be a long haul, but I am feeling positive that I will be a bit earlier than with Libby.

Peek-A-Boo
Libby has figured out that she can play peek-a-boo without anything to cover her face but her hands. It is very fun, but I wish she would do it when she wasn't eating at the same time. She was a real guacamole, sour cream, and black beans slime ball after this adventure. In the middle of the clip you get to hear another of her new sound effects. She is pretty much always creating a soundtrack for what she is doing. She is definitely like her uncle Dave. I can see her having to eat in the bathroom a time or two because she won't quit singing at the table :)

Grandpa Pics
For Christmas I made my parents shirts that had Libby's picture on them. They were very cute--but of course the cheap iron on doesn't last very well. So my dad requested a new one. Oh how much easier it was to get cute snap shots of Libby back then. Here are some of my favorite attempts. (All taken in the new chair in the living room, who knew she could turn so many different ways in such a small space.) This is a new outfit I found for her, by the way. I am struggling so much right now with her clothes. She has such short legs that it is hard to find things that fit! It has turned cold here too, so she really needs some warm things.
Decor Changes
I have been working on a few changes in Libby's room. I went to Ikea and got the little fishy rug to make a toy corner. I painted some of the slats on the changing table to make her room more fun. It was just way too white. I also painted the edges of this bulletin board for her.
We also got furniture for our living room! We went looking for a dining set but it turns out a good dining set is much harder to find than a living room set. Those who know me will be proud though, I didn't buy it the day we found it. I had 2 friends go back with me the next day for 2nd opinions before I bought it. We got the chair and couch (both dark brown leather) for under $1000. Sweet! Libby love to play on them.

Protein Advice?
So Libby is picky about eating. We learned that the hard way early on. I am always at work trying to find something she will consistently eat--but she goes in BIG time phases. (I don't know where she gets that.) Some proteins that she has gobbled up for awhile but is now rejecting include: yogurt, cheese, hot dogs, beans (black and pinto), and chicken. Stuff she will still eat right now: peanut butter and (I think) ground beef with some kind of sauce. She also only wants to eat food that she can feed herself.
Help? I need more suggestions because peanut butter is such a mess and she can't take it to the gym because of allergy issues there. We have resorted to giving her some of the Next Steps formula to help her get enough to sleep through the night. (Which she is thankfully doing!) So I guess, who cares if all she eats is peanut butter toast where she licks off the peanut butter and throws the toast?

Helper Libby
Here Libby is again helping with the laundry. She especially loves climbing in and out of the laundry basket now that she is tall and agile enough.
The other picture is of her craftily sneaking around the barrier we tried to create so I could mop the floor. There is just no keeping her out of the kitchen.

Libby's Sound Effects
I couldn't figure out what she was doing at first when I heard the sounds. But then I realized she was driving a little police car around and making the siren sound that her other police car toy makes. It was so amazing!
Laundry Love
Aunt Maren recently confessed that she hates folding laundry. Libby just wanted to show her how she could make it more fun and enjoyable. Mommy's filming isn't so good, but I think Aunt Maren will get the idea.

Following in her footsteps...
Well, this week I canned! For the first time. I couldn't help but think of my great-grandma Randall talking about "canning peachies" as Derek and I scalded and peeled the peaches. She was a great woman that I was really blessed to know. I remember sitting outside and canning with her when I was young and she was in her 80s and 90s. Derek and I were also greatful for our moms and their examples of canning. We both remarked as we finished the peaches that it just felt like the right thing to do. We were blessed because all of our 9 quarts sealed :)

She REALLY DOES WALK!
Reid is here today while his parents are at the BYU UW game. He is a very good influence on Libby. She has been walking a ton! I finally caught some on video. As this was uploading I saw her come out of her room already on her feet and take 19 steps down the hall!

Happy Birthday Blog!
On the 9th, our blog will celebrate one year of life. Life with Libby has been a perfect forum for me to vent frustrations, share exciting moments, and connect with friends and family in such an amazing way. I am so thankful for this blog. But, I think in celebration of 1 year, and in celebration of the ever closer arrival of Sarah, it is time for a name change. Our lives will no longer be "Life with Libby" but a whole new adventure with 2 kids! I am seeking title suggestions from my faithful readers out there. Especially those who read often but tell me they never comment. :)

Libby's Dessert
Yesterday Libby had a sub par eating day--she was too distracted by all of the events of the day. We had her immunology appointment at Children's Hospital (they don't think she has any real immune problems, hooray!), then went to the airport to pick up Aunt Leanne, then went to IKEA (got a dresser for baby Sarah), and finally came home. Anyway, I decided she needed to calorie load for dinner so I gave her MnMs for dessert. She turned her entire face blue with only 4 MnMs. Needless to say, we went straight from high chair to bath tub.

Go Huskies!
Libby really got into her role as cheerleader for the Husky game...at least when she wasn't stealing food from the food table or running in fright from the alligator hand puppet. Too bad the game itself only gave 2 opportunities for Husky fans to cheer (one field goal, one touchdown) while the other team had many, many, many.
