We are rocking and rolling here in the Norton home. And learning to share, sort of.

Sarah Took A STEP
Just one, but it was fun to watch her stand up on her own and move toward me with her legs rather than just an upper body lunge. Hopefully this is the beginning of walking.

Libby Feeding Sarah
Often when I am feeding Sarah, Libby wants to help. I love this because usually Libby decides to eat some of Sarah's food too. Actually, I don't think I have mentioned this because I didn't want to jinx it, but Libby has become quite the eater...sometimes. But more often than she used to. Her food of choice? Peanut butter. She will eat about 4 huge heaping tablespoons of it in one sitting. It is pretty amazing. She eats other things too. She must be finally growing :)

Naked Sarah
We have been having a MAD diaper rash outbreak. So, after dinner and before FHE yesterday we had some naked baby time outside. Sarah was showing off her standing skills. She can stand for several seconds at a time, but when she tried to stand up holding the soccer ball, that didn't last so long :) I thought I had heard all the diaper rash remedies, but the doctor we saw on Sunday had a new suggestion. Mix Aquaphor with Maalox (the antacid). The mixture provides a moisture barrier and the antacid neutralizes the acid in the urine. It has been keeping them more comfortable (especially Sarah) while we wait for her diarrhea to stop and for the oral meds to kill the yeast.

Libby Dancing
Libby thinks our bed is the best stage for her dancing/jumping routine.
She is so adorable that I can't bring myself to lay down the no jumping on the bed rule quite yet. She is also very excited to have us join her. It is so cute when she asks you to dance with her, you can't help but get up and move!
Sarah can't wait until she can be up there dancing too!

Sarah Strolling
Here is Sarah walking along behind the "bike" that Libby got for her 1st birthday. I love how she turns to make sure I am still there.
My Amazing Husband
Most posts on the blog are about the antics of my little ones. Today I am going to boast about the accomplishments of my husband. We put off buying a house for quite a long time and one of the reasons was that we didn't want all our time filled with home projects. They can be so difficult, time consuming and frustrating. But Derek decided to take a couple head on!
When we bought our house it had a large storage area for the garbage cans right in front of the house. Strange. Derek finally dimantled it and used the doors to build a gate for the side of the house that didn't have one. AWESOME! It is so much better than the rigged up baby gate that was there before.
The house without the garbage can holder.
The new gate
He also decided that when we removed the hot tub that we should rebuild the surface of the deck. It was lots more work than we thought it would be (more time consuming), but it looks amazing!

Libby Talks
and talks and talks and talks and talks and talks...There is now a constant stream of verbage coming from her mouth. If we aren't around, she talks to her animals, dolls, imaginary friends, etc. I caught a short glimpse of her reading to her husky doll.

Happy Brithday Libby
Today Libby had her 2nd party for her 2nd birthday. A couple of picture highlights from the two partys.
Blast-off cake made by Grandma Debbi because I had a cold (not to mention that she makes better cakes.)

I don't know if this is an actualy birthday shot, but this is where she opened presents.
Libby putting the birthday hat on Daddy.
The 2 seconds she wore the hat. (It kind of looks like she was smiling, she wasn't, she was crying.)
The birthday "cake" made my me...it is actually "golf balls," a new Libby favorite made of graham crackers, peanut butter, coconut and chocolate. I consider it a balanced meal for Libby :) Thanks Jenn!

Project CIty!
I haven't been able to take time to write for too long...but I have legitimate reasons. We have been in project mode. The first major project was that we got a new computer. It was all part of an iPod switcho with Dave. I didn't really remember all of the work and downloading that goes into getting a new computer, but boy, it is work. I finally think I might have enough stuff up and running to be functional. I still am running my iTunes through the old computer where I have all my playlists, but for the most part we are switched. We are now using the old computer with the TV as our monitor. It serves as our DVD player and our hulu access so we can watch our favorite shows whenever we want to, Burn Notice and Royal Pains :)
Derek built the gate for the side of the house that I have been really wanting! (He did it with only one trip to Home Depot!)
We have also been yanking the hot tub out of the deck and rebuilding. What a project. Here are a couple of pics of the deck stripped down to the joists. We have about 1/2 of the new wood in place and all of it is cut. It has been a project of about a million trips to Home Depot. So far no one has bought our hot tub. Oh how I would like to at least make a little money to offset the cost of redoing the deck! Any takers?
