Another thing we did during Derek's vacation time is that we went on a date hike. It was so good to just talk--and hash out all the options in front of us at this strange stage. We talked about sending the kids and I to Utah so that they could go to school (in person). We talked about the possibility of leaving Seattle because of the political climate and lack of job security in the police world here. We talked about how to parent our teen...and the other kids. We talked about our possible upcoming kitchen remodel. So much happening. There is no one I'd rather navigate all of this with.
And while we were gone, Emma took the kids to the pool. They did a photo shoot with a pair of Ray-bans they found at the pool. Hilarious. They (especially Libby) are SUPER brand conscious. It is a little worrisome...but I remember feeling that way at her age.
