Remembering Grandpa Brion

My kids have been lucky to know and get to spend lots of time with all 4 of their grandparents.  We even have lived close to the Norton grandparents all of their lives.  Grammy and Grandpa Brion have been a constant in their lives--at all their concerts, dance recitals, birthday events, etc.  What an amazing blessing.  For the last year or so we've watched Brion's cancer advance and his health fail.  He was determined to live as long as he could.  He lived, probably, longer than he should have--clinging to each day as a chance to work toward his goals and be with his family.

On July 3rd, he finally let go, and returned to his Heavenly Father.  Due to trips and wrestling camp, we just had his funeral this last Friday.  So we had a few weeks to prepare to celebrate him.  I got to make the slideshow, the sign in book, and the program for the funeral.  It was a privilege to work on these projects to remember how much he loved his family.

He and Derek weren't close--in the traditional sense.  They didn't share hobbies or interests.  But they shared a love of the gospel and of Japan where the both served their missions.  We'll miss having Brion in our corner for so many things.  And we know it'll be hard to see Geneva without her other half.

I did a terrible job of getting pictures on the day of the funeral, so hopefully I'll get some at some point to add.
