10 Days at Home

We had only 10 days at home in July before we headed back to Utah.  We worked on research projects, did swimming and piano lessons, and cleaned and prepped for round #2.
All 3 kids had their well child checks.  It was close to Ben and Libby's birthday.  Not so close to Sarah's.  Only 9 months late (or a few months early, depending on how you look at it).  They are still a handful while in the doctor's office, it turns out.  Libby is projected to weigh 100 pounds by age 20.  Sarah is way over the appropriate BMI and Ben is, well, Ben.  So, we have some eating to work on.

Libby and Ben got new shoes.

Ben tightens his velcro shoes so tight that he destroys the shoes.  So, tie shoes it is.  I am slowly working on tying shoes, but mainly I am doing it for him.  Ugh.
Swimming lessons with Anne Ducey are the best!  This year she is coming to our pool to swim with the kids.  All are making good progress!
In the park around the corner from our house they do karaoke most Tuesday nights during the summer.  For our RS activity, we went over and joined the fun.  The girls came and each sang 2 songs!  They loved it!  (That is why Libby got a karaoke machine for her birthday.)

After the Beatles cover band we watched in Centerville at the 4th of July celebration, Libby is in love with the Beatles.  She sang a Beatles tune with one of her favorite friends from church.
Notice there is no picture of me singing karaoke.  I am too afraid.  Libby also got a karaoke machine because I need to figure out what my karaoke jam is.
We also went to two other amazing events at Shoreline Parks.  This was a One-Man-Band/Juggler that we really enjoyed.  (Sarah had to leave early so she could go to the Shorewood basketball fundamentals camp she had signed up for and she was sad.)  The other park event I didn't get a picture of, but it was Shakespeare in the Park.  Grammy joined us for "Much Ado About Nothing."  It was fabulous!

After the Juggler, Ben, his buddy Simon & Libby had fun playing on the beach.

Libby found tons of crabs!

Derek also had his 20 year reunion.  I left for UT on the day of the reunion, but the night before we had dinner with 2 of his besties from Shorewood class of 1997 and their wives.  Then we went to Dick's for dessert.

We don't look old enough to be having a 20 year reunion, do we?  (and mine was actually 2 years ago!)
So, our 10 days at home were not restful.  But they were full of fun and time in the sun!  Then, into the van and back to Utah for the 2nd set of travel adventures for the summer.
