Libby's New Do

We have to use a blowdryer on Libby's bottom in between diaper changes to help prevent rash. After her bath the other night, the dryer was going for a really long time. I went in to see what Derek was up to--check this girl out--straight hair!
Well, mostly straight. I can't believe Derek beat me to this! It was so cute.

Changes coming...

Sarah is doing the whiny whine that means that she is ready to do something new. I am afraid that something new will be moving. She can now scoot backward. It is only a matter of time before I am chasing two instead of just one. Yikes!
Here is Sarah after she backed herself into the recliner. Luckily she is spitting up less, so she isn't usually leaving a trail of spit up across the carpet.

Easter Egg Hunt

Libby really enjoyed finding Easter eggs in the back yard. She also enjoyed picking dandilions. She especially enjoyed the event after she figured out if she tossed the eggs down hard enough, candy came out.

EARS!!!

It was about this point in Libby's life that I started writing mournful posts about her various ailments. Now I am just used to the fact that as a parent, and especially a parent of two children, someone is always sick. I didn't even really complain when Sarah had diaper rash at her first dr. appointment ever. (As a new mom I clearly wasn't fully opening my eyes as I was changing her in the middle of the night.) The diaper rash continues to be a battle...but I shrug it off. All diaper changes are more fun if you put on three kinds of cream and desitin, right? She has had a few colds, whatev. BUT, NOW I AM COMPLAINING. We went in for her 6 month checkup after she had been up all night crying. SURE ENOUGH, EAR INFECTION. COME ON! She is starting about 6 months younger than Libby did. I am just praying it is going to be an isolated incident and that we won't have 6 straight weeks of ear infection after ear infection ending with tubes before she can even crawl. Yikes.
But she is way cute :) Even sick she kept on trying to play throught the pain. It was just when you would lay her down to sleep that she would holler.

We did manage to get her official stats:
Weight 15 lbs. 2 oz. 40%
Height 26" 50%
Head Circ 17" 75%

She is still growing! That is good news.

Sarah Eating...

So maybe after Libby we are a little too excited about how well Sarah eats. But every time I am feeding her when Derek is around he grabs the camera and takes a shot. She just looks so cute in her high chair. (Actually, Libby's high chair, as Libby reminds us anytime we put Sarah in it. "Mine!" is becoming a word I hate to hear.)

Piggy Backs

When my sister Rachel and I were young, we used to give each other piggy backs down the hall of our house...or should I say tried to give each other piggy backs. I was a bit larger than she was. I don't know if we ever laughed as hard as we did during the times she attempted to give me piggy backs. Anyway, Libby is starting young training Sarah to give her what she simply calls a "BACK!"

Easter Dresses

Libby and Sarah got these amazing Easter Dresses from their Grandma Debbi. Excellent picks!

I just can't resist the temptation to show you some of these pics a bit larger.

Being a Mom

There are times when I think that being a mom is the hardest and most frustrating job in the whole world--with so few tangible rewards. Then someone outside your family circle steps in and takes a few pictures that broaden your view of your world. Amazing. My girls are so important to me! I wouldn't trade them for any job--no matter what the pay or the effort it took.
I had a hard time cutting any of these out, so it is about 3 1/2 mins. of pics, but I think you will enjoy them.
And special thanks to Liz for taking these pictures on her visit to Seattle.

Libby Figures it OUT!

I have been waiting ages for Libby to figure out what to do with this block set besides just put it in her mouth. She is starting to get it. Emphasis on starting. If the block doesn't go in right away she usually doesn't have much patience for twisting and trying. (Wonder where she got that?)

Girl Time

My girls love being together. At least for a few seconds at a time. Then Libby gets tired of it and wants to move on to other adventures. But I am getting some great shots of them together. If I go to get Libby up from her nap with Sarah, Libby wants me to put Sarah in bed with her. Here are some good shots of that.
