Libby Quotes

Libby is continuing to amaze me with her speech. It is so fun to hear her learn to say things.
My two favorite things yesterday were:
Libby brings in a leaf from outside, gives it to Sarah and says: "Here you go Sarah, Happy Birthday!"
We also went to have Sarah's ears checked yesterday. Our doctor has a pretty tricky name "Dr. Sutton-Wolf", so I rarely say it to Libby. But I said it a few times yesterday. When the doctor came into the room, Libby said, "Hi Dr. Sutton-Wolf" with perfect diction. So awesome! I love this girl. Even when she is screaming at night and I go in and find her under the toddler bed. I think she got stuck going in after a binkie. She is napping fine in it, but bed time is tougher. She initially goes to sleep, but then wakes up an hour earlier and it is still light. I think that she thinks it is morning. Do I just put her to bed later? She is so grumpy from not getting enough sleep! (This was going on before the toddler bed...but I think the bed might be contributing?)

Libby's Big Girl Bed

Libby got a big girl bed yesterday. I have been considering it for months, but my friend Taylor's blog posts about Madeline gave me the courage to try. Libby loves it! She did great for her nap today and did ok last night. I hope that she will do even better tonight! Last night was tough because my brother Dave was here. She kept knocking on her door saying "uncle davey!" But finally she went to sleep. I am guessing it was on the bed, I didn't dare look in to see.

I came into the room this morning as Libby was showing daddy her big girl bed (he was at work yesterday when I got it. (BTW, it was $20.00 on craig's list--w/out mattress.) She was snuggling him so sweetly until I got out the camera.

Sarah Crawls!!!

She really does. I promise to film some proof today if I can. No promises since she has the flu and is keeping busy with other things (like changing diapers every 5 minutes it seems). But I wanted to be sure and document it! Yesterday, June 18th, was her first official crawling. Libby is fascinated by the spectacle! She gets down and crawls in circles around Sarah.

Pics of ME!

My friend Rochelle commented that there are no pictures of adults on the blog. Hmmm. That is for several reasons. The top two being that a) I am usually holding the camera and b) Libby and Sarah are so much cuter that I am. But, here are a couple of me at my final Mountlake Terrace High School graduation. (At least for awhile.) I really loved the class of 2009. I am holding a rose from a student who gave it to me to say thanks for asking him why he was in the class with all the stupid kids. Did I really say that? Probably :) I guess it helped him realize that he didn't belong there.

Sarah Swimming

Sarah has now been swimming 3 times in her life, she is a natural though. She figured out that moving her legs can help her get places. This was an ill-fated day in the hot tub though, Daddy and Libby both got some kind of rash/allergic reaction to the water. Luckily, we already had a doctor appt the next day. She wasn't sure what it was exactly, but we have been taking lots of Benadryl around here. We have now officially decided to sell the hot tub (we also got our first electicity bill since we fixed it and have had it running for a month or so...YIKES!) It is a luxury that we don't need. It will be costly to get rid of it too, since we have to fill in the deck and stuff, but oh well. Too bad we already bought a new cover for it. Hopefully craigs list will help us find a buyer for the cover at least.

Tickle Me Libby

Libby is very into tickling others, especially Daddy, since his laughs are the best.

Happy Birthday Derek/Daddy

Libby enjoyed singing "Happy Birthday" to her daddy, but only when I didn't have a camera around. Here I got just the last line, but the giggling after is well worth the watch :)

Sarah's Crawling...almost

Sarah spent the entire day today, whenever I put her down, trying to crawl. She works herself up into bear crawl position and then paddles her feet like crazy trying to go forward. She gets SO frustrated with herself. All along I have been hoping that she would wait awhile before crawling so that I wasn't trying to chase two...but now she is making herself so unhappy I just want her to figure it out. MOVE YOUR HANDS GIRL!!! But she has figured out how to go backward. Here is where she found herself today while I was cleaning Libby's room...Libby thought it looked so fun, she joined her.

Dreamy?

The first thing Libby said this morning when I went to get her up was "I like Guy Smiley (pause to suck binkie)...and I like Grover, too." She must have been having Sesame dreams? I guess who wouldn't like these two adorable creatures?

SHARE!!!

Libby has now taken to shouting "Share!" when she wants something that someone else has. I guess that means she is starting to understand the concept. Kind of. Here is Libby "sharing" with Sarah...or, Libby climbing up to the high chair and stealing Sarah's cheerios. And Libby "sharing" bath toys with Sarah...or stealing them. I am trying to be positive about it. It is fun to see them interacting more and more. (You may also notice the presence of my hand holding a nebulizer in the picture. We are trying to get rid of the wheeze in Sarah's chest. 3-4 times a day giving her albuterol treatments...Libby also wants to share "the medicine.")

BODYSTEP

This weekend I missed my usual Sunday post because I was taking yet another certification course. This time I did my initial BODYSTEP training. It was really intense. It is Tuesday and I am still sore. But it was fun. Now I will be learning new choreography literally all the time between BODYSTEP, BODYPUMP, and ZUMBA. But they are all so fun to teach! I really missed my girls though. But Sarah and Libby had a really fun time with Daddy. Also, Abby and Ari came and babysat (Abby is the sister of my favorite mission companion--we are so lucky they moved here!!)
Anyway, here are some recent cute moments with my girls:
Libby jamming to "PUMP"

Sarah giving me a wink (in response to the light of the flash, not because she can really wink.)
Sarah loving her float time. She loved her first hot tub experience. We might have another one today, it is an 80 degree scorcher here!
