Libby's New Trick

Notice what she is not wearing? Yep, those pants on the floor near her. She looks so pleased with herself that she can pull them off all by herself. Mommy hopes this is a phase that will be over SOON. It is hard enough to get pants on her after each diaper change.
She started walking more and more yesterday. I will try to get a video of it today so I can put it on. It is hard to predict when she will walk, and she gets so distracted every time I pick up the camera that I don't get much these days.

I Got Tagged!

The rules: List 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 facts about yourself. Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names. Let them know they are tagged by leaving a comment on their blog!

I don't usually do this kind of thing--but it is a rainy Wednesday, I am very pregnant, Libby is sleeping, and my aerobics meeting was postponed until tomorrow. Besides, I was tagged by my friend Carli who I LOVE!

3 Joys:
-My family, especially my great husband and adorable daughter, but the sibs and parents too (in-laws included)!
-Cooking and eating
-Cleaning my house. Really.

3 Fears:
-That something awful will happen to Libby
-Fish touching my body while swimming
-The ocean (because of fear #2)

3 Current Obsessions or Collections:
-Exercise--although this is (I hope) a lifelong obsession. My current favorite exercise activities are BodyPump, walking with Libby and Emmi and Reid, and water aerobics.
-Strollers--this has not been a conscious effort, but I need one for every occasion and every # of kids, right? I currently have 4 strollers and I am in the market for a double jogging stroller.
-European history--it is actually painful to me that I am not going back to school this week, but only in a little part of my heart, and only when Libby isn't making me laugh--so it isn't too painful.
-Okay, so this is 4, but I am currently obsessed with soft serve ice cream cones. I know how much they are at all the different McDs around the area.

3 Facts about myself:
-I am an organization freak.
-I never sit still to watch a movie (except in a theater). Favorite movie watching activities, nail painting and laundry folding.
-I resist doing anything I don't think I will be good at.

Now who should I tag? Two people who definitely need to update their blogs: Rachel and Dave. Then also...those who comment the most on mine :) Sam Packer, Taylor Johnson, and Megan Bassett.

Libby Knows...

So maybe you all don't remember this, but Libby today was reminding me of this old Bo Jackson poster (I think Dave had it?). I actually found it online so you could compare our darling with the big man :) Bo Jackson's slogan was something like "Bo Knows" and Libby certainly thinks she knows it all today.

Pregnancy update

For those who aren't around to see my growing abdomen...it is getting out there!

But in comparing pictures from last time, THIS IS STILL NOTHING! Yikes. Baby Sarah is extremely active in there. She kicks at Libby when I am holding Libby. Sisterly love already!

Overboard Food!

We had a little housewarming party last night to have some of our friends over who haven't been here yet. I had a blast making various appetizers. The most funny was the twinkie sushi (I got the recipe from my mom). I also did some mexican, italian, and czech--so it was very international.

I made far too much food though. We will be eating leftover appetizers for weeks :)

Our Little Animal

Since Libby isn't saying too many words, but loves making sounds, we have been working on her animals. (I keep trying to catch these on video, but she gets so into the camera that she won't make the sounds...) She has been doing the snake for awhile (she sticks out her tongue), and the lion (she has a great growl). This week she has added the dog and the cow. We are so proud.

Yummy Ramen

So she didn't actually eat much, but she had fun trying to eat noodles from chopsticks.

How Does Our Garden Grow?

Then... Now...
We have lots of tomatoes growing, some zuchinni, beans, yellow squash, and yummy herbs. I am so excited!

She WALKS!

So on Wednesday night Libby's Aunt Emily was here visiting from Utah. I thought I saw the Libster take a step that night. But today, I actually saw it for sure! Apparently our little darling didn't want to walk until she could stand up on her own.
You may be asking, what inspired her to get up on her own and take 2 steps. Was it the loving and encouraging face of one of her parents? NO! It was--the toilet. I was getting into the shower, so she was playing in the bathroom. She stood up on her own from a squat and walked right over to bang on the lid.
I have to send a shout out to one of my roommates from college--Laney--who always insisted that I put the cover down. So thankfully, I learned a good habit and the cover was closed :) Libby just used the toilet like a drum and cruised over to the tub as if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
My pregnant back would love to see her walking full time sooner rather than later!

Beachtime Barretts (and Libby)

On Tuesday Night we had a fun sleepover with the Barrett cousins. As usual we did our fun dress up and photo shoot. This time: beach theme. Libby refused to hold still, but the others were great models. (Kaj calmed down after the initial panic attack about having gel in his hair.)
Paige is going to make these pics into a video for YouTube I think, so I will put the link on as soon as I get it.

Perfect Toy!

Libby is really enjoying the toy Grandma and Grandpa Randall got her. She can't turn yet though, so I have to help with that part.

Libby Causing Mischief

Here Libby is gleefully pulling all of the rags I use for cleaning out of the cupboard. Love it!

Sarah Louise

So I have been thinking a lot lately about my Grandma Louise Randall. I am Tricia Louise after her. During my first quarters at USU I lived with Grandma and Grandpa Randall in Logan. I was a bit frustrated by her cleanliness, orderliness, and fastidiousness at the time. But who does that sound like? YEP, me. So since I have been staying home with Libby and religiously doing my laundry on Monday, putting twist ties on stray cords, touching up paint with nail polish because it perfectly matches the color, and making her hamburger soup, I feel so thankful for her influence (both nature and nuture). I feel thankful to share her name. I am leaning toward having Sarah share that name too. Especially because my Granmda Louise is nearing 90. Sarah may not get to know her. But if she shares her name, she will be certain to ask. Then I can tell her about the amazing woman that is my Grandma.

Libby's First Word

I don't know if it is actually her first word, officially, but yesterday I was buying some balls for our parent tot swim class and she said "Ba", "Ba", "Ba" over and over. I think she actually connected the item with the word! Hooray!

Libby Feeling Better...

We have been used to a sluggish Libby who stays close to mommy. Yesterday we both thought she was with the other one...and it turns out she had crawled onto the front porch for a little feast...She was extremely pleased with herself.

Ear Infection!

Well, the MMR shot that she got on Tuesday was not the cause of all our woes. In fact, she was hit by a virus that stopped up her nose like crazy. That then led to a lovely ear infection. Man, it is complicated being a mommy. I have now spent two nights watching the Emperor's New Groove in the middle of the night to help distract her from her misery. Today we finally went into the doctor and got some antibiotics. It is hard to find that balance between being that mom who rushes her daughter to the doc at the first sign of the sniffle and the one who waits so long that the kid is in agony. I may have waited too long on this one, but since it was Saturday and Sunday that I waited too long, I can't really blame myself, right? Anyway, while we were waiting to pick up the meds at Bartell's she crawled all over the whole store laughing all the time. So maybe she is starting to pull through.
