Singers and Songwriters

Lately Ben has been singing.  It is so fun to notice a little tune behind the chatter.  The first song I ever heard him singing was "Doe a Deer" from the Sound of Music.  He also sings the "Monkey Song" (the one with the Monkeys swinging in a tree teasing Mr. Alligator--he knows it from nursery).

Libby has become a song writer.  She makes up long ballads (that usually have a very repetitive chorus).  They have various topics.  But one last Sunday was about how much she loves and misses Reid.

Cheer Camp!

This week the girls had "cheerleadering" camp at Edmonds Woodway.  They loved it!  And so did I.  I dropped them off in the morning and Ben and I went to the house to pack.  It was awesome.  I got so much done.  This camp is really well done.  They do crafts, stunts, cheers, and dance.  Now later in the month they get to cheer at a football game.  Such a great deal.
This is Libby's twin.  Her name is Elizabeth just like Libby!

They loved seeing the Warrior.
Ben wanted to wrestle the Warrior.

The girls just loved getting their pictures with all the cheerleaders.

Home Shopping Updates

Well, I posted on facebook last Sunday night that we didn't get the house we offered on.  So, back to the drawing board.  I have seen every house in our price range that has come on the market in the area we want to live.  Nothing good so far.  The Lord is teaching me patience.  I am a slow learner.

So Far, So Good!

All went well with our inspection...the appraiser came on Friday.  As long as he can figure out how our house can be worth the purchase price (which shouldn't be a problem), we are just waiting to close.  And packing.  And prepping.  To move...where?
Well, we might have found something.  I was hoping to know by now, but yesterday owners of the home we offered on needed time to think about the 2 offers they had received before they decided.  It is a family that goes WAY back with the Nortons, so we are hopeful that our offer will prevail, even if it is for less...
Yesterday I was a nervous wreck over it!  Today I am Zen.  If it is meant to be, it is meant to be.  Right?
As my realtor, the amazing Christie Quigley said, just "chillax" (a cross between chill and relax--it should be something I say to myself a million times a day even in normal circumstances!)
Update coming soon, maybe tomorrow?

Taste of Edmonds

Yesterday the girls danced at the Taste if Edmonds. They did a good job considering it has been awhile since the recital. They sang very well. They also had a blast doing the bouncy houses. Libby used her birthday money from aunt Leanne and Josh to ride a pony. (I gave Sarah money to ride too or we would have had an epic meltdown. Ben was bad enough.). The girls just walked out and rode with no help (except to get on the horse). The other parents were impressed with how brave the girls were. The best part: the whole event was funded by $60 I found on the sidewalk while running in an industrial area by Mike's house in the morning.

An Acceptable Offer

Houses in our area are selling like hot cakes, like in a weekend. So, I was in the depths of despair on Monday when we had no offers. But, I realized that our house is special, well updated for it's size and location. So it was going to take the right buyer. I left for girls' camp feeling like I just needed to have faith and not be so prideful about my house. I had a great time at camp. The devotionals were amazing. I came home and the next day we knew the offer would be coming in. They are a young couple about to have their first! Perfect. Their cover letter made me cry. I am so excited. Now all needs to go well on inspection!

It's Official!

Our house is on the market. It went up yesterday. We had 2 showings yesterday. Hopefully lots more today and at least one good offer by next weekend. It is pretty nerve wracking!
