Libby Sippy?

Nope, she doesn't seem to get the sippy cup still.

Slacker?

Well, Tuesday to Saturday is a big break in the blog--especially for one as diligent as I have been. I have only one excuse. Libby is going to have a "sibby". Or in other words, I am slogging through the tiredness of my 1st trimester with our #2. We are so excited! I can't wait...But, somehow running for the camera seems a titch more effort that it is worth at times now. But don't worry, I am already 11 weeks. 2nd trimester here I come!

Libby Lovin' Books

Here Libby is trying desparately to get a book mark out of my Prague book. Notice that there are no longer any other books on the shelf. This was where I kept the scrapbooks. I think it is hilarious that the first time she got the scrapbooks out, she went directly to the one that was about her arrival. She pulled the page from the page protector that was a printout of my pregnancy test results (yes from Epic Dave!). She nibbled all over it before Derek could rinse the bread dough off his hands and rescue it. Anyway, the scrapbooks now have a new home on top of the dresser.

Travelling Libby

Here is Libby trying to crawl into daddy's suitcase. She sure wanted to go with him to VA Beach for the wrestling national tournament....at least if getting into the suitcase was any indication. She spent about an hour (spaced out in different intervals) trying to get in. Never did. I am relieved, because I would have really missed her!

Libby Pulls Herself UP!

When Libby pulls up she rolls over her toes. It is so cute and funny. She loves pulling herself up on just about everything now. She still can't get down though. So after a few minutes of looking like she is the coolest ever, she starts to get a panicked look on her face and starts trying to reach toward the floor to see if she can get back down. After that she starts making cute whining noises until I rescue her. Unless, that is, she reaches too far back in trying to see if she can get down on her own and falls.

It Finally Happened!

Libby bit my finger, and yes, I felt a tooth! For real this time! She has been a bit grumpy, but not too bad. I think the pickle she ate at Easter dinner yesterday had more of a negative impact than the tooth...but you never can tell :)

Sporting the Sunglasses

Libby and I getting set to go out on a walk. It really was sunny out for a minute :)

New Milestones!

It seemed like there were a couple of months there when Libby would never start really moving. She was in "almost crawling" mode for so long. But now--look out. She went from the worm crawl, to a regular crawl, to pulling herself up on anything that she can get her hands on (bookshelves, chairs, dishtowels hanging--that hurt!). Anyway, here she is where she pulled herself up on the library step stool. She actually let go with both hands as if to say--"Look Ma, no hands!" In the picture I got her one handed. The other picture is her amazing ability to crawl over obstacles (Derek's head is the obstacle in this case.)

Randall Family

Libby Loved Utah!

Here are some of the highlights of our great trip... Meeting up with cousin Jonathan (he is just a bit younger than she is).
Eating peas and entertaining us with "the pea face"
Hiding under the laundry (my parents' dryer was broken).

Libby Bonds With Grandpa

My Dad just got a new tractor, so while the girls were out getting pedicures, Libby spent time with Grandpa and the tractor.

Libby Learning to Stand

We are leaving for Utah in just a couple of hours, so I don't have time to edit this...but Libby uncut is hilarious. You get a feel for just how unstable she still is on her feet, and you get to hear the range of sounds she is making these days.

I just let her watch the video. She thought it was fascinating and kept trying to talk to the Libby on the screen! She looked at me as if to say, is this real?

Libby Attempts to Shower

So leaving Libby to roam free during my showers has caused incidents in the past. But, with the garbage put away, the child safety locks on, and plenty of Libby toys in the floor, I thought I was in the clear. No. Now she has decided she wants to slip into the shower with me. Luckily the lip of the shower is a bit too high, but she certainly tried! She even pulled herself to nearly standing as part of the effort. In the end she just pushed back the shower curtain (after sucking on it) and played in the water she could reach. I love her creativity.

Bored Libby

Yesterday we took Libby to the UW to help with a study on cognition. She did quite well, getting bored easily when they showed her the same thing over and over. While it makes for tough parenting, at least we have a kid who is very aware of what is going on around her.

Libby's Crawls with 80s Flair

Okay, so it is pretty much "the worm". But it gets her from point A (one thing she shouldn't be eating) to point B (another thing she shouldn't be eating). It is probably kind of bad that I whistle to get her attention. Just ignore that part.

Crawling into Trouble

Well, she is really doing it. She is crawling all over the place. It kind of looks like a half crawl half lunge still--but it accomplishes her purpose of getting her hands (and then mouth) on everything she shouldn't. Pictured are just a few of the things she has been nibbling.

My sewing machine pedal, the cold air return, Derek's Japanese bible, all the dictionaries!

Libby Eats a Cheerio!

So here Libby shows off her skills! (Well actually first she just mauls my hand to get the cheerio without any work.) Then she shows how she can hold a cheerio and get it in her mouth all by herself. The funniest part, though, is to watch her face after she gets the food in her mouth. She acts like it is the worst thing she has ever tasted. Gotta love her!

Derek's New Alarm

When Derek takes his nap (usually between work and wrestling), Libby loves to wake him up. Today she spent some time enjoying playing in our bed after he woke up. She loves the strings on the shams and bedspread.

Yummy!

Today we went to enjoy some Red Robin thanks to Uncle Dave, Aunt Keri, Sam, William, and Mariah. (Gift card for my birthday :) Libby seriously enjoyed tasting everything from the boiled egg white and lettuce from my salad, to the fries. Especially the fries.
