Hosting a Shorewood Invite (With all 5 Nortons!)

Libby is home for Christmas!  I was so excited.  I nearly cried every hour on the day she flew home.  She had finally managed to get her car registered in Iowa (deserves its own post, but suffice it to say--it was a journey of 1000 red tape cuttings), and was legally driving it to the airport.  It is 1.5 hours to the airport.  It is winter there (like the kind with freezing weather and snow) so I worried.  But she made it.  She successfully boarded both flights and made it home.

We immediately drove to the high school to set up for the 1st (annual maybe?) Shorewood Invitational tournament.  I brought her friend Izzy to the airport with me, and she was so happy to see her.  And a little happy to see me.  I think.

Anyway, the tournament went well (in terms of running a tournament) Ben went 1-2, so it wasn't super awesome for him.  But we all had fun working tables.  We had WAY too much food in the hospitality room, a great problem to have.

We were all cleaned up and ready to go home by 2-ish, except returning a mat to Edmonds Woodway.

Anyway, it was a nice treat to have a short day.  I got some Christmas cooking in! (My 2nd attempt at pumpkin bars this season--I ruined one batch with no baking powder or baking soda...this time I left out the oil.  Which turned out was forgivable it seemed.  People ate some at the ward linger longer and the youth caroling night that ended at our house.)

Pics from the Shorewood invite--so happy I've got some other parents taking great pics these days!  Thanks Shawn Van Horn for these great ones!

Trust me--we're having fun.  I'm helping record matches on MatBoss.  I enjoy the challenge of live scoring, getting all the matches input, etc.

Love all the shots of Derek coaching.  I feel like I can figure out what is going on in these matches based on his posture...

Will he do what I want him to do?  Will he? Come on...

Ben on top

Libby and one of the coach's daughters were a majorly awesome towel tapping team.

Awww...what a great team right there.

Another great table work team.

Most of the crew.  (Some were helping load mats.)

Ben on top again!  This is the match he won.

Another great team!

Hospitality room helping!

This is the pic I got on the first night home.  Love this crew!

100+ Win team!

Dad happy to see his girl.
