Swim Meet vs. Piranhas

The most impressive part of this video is Sarah's dive off the block.  She has been doing a fair amount of work to stop the belly flopping.  Nailed it!

Here is Ben's Butterfly race.  I can't tell if he took 2nd or 3rd.  Have to see when the ribbons come out.
This is a hard stroke.  I'm super proud of his improvement!

We had another great week of swimming.  I am so glad that Libby's summer school is over so that I don't have to go to Gators 2x a day.  For the meet this week I was in charge of staging again, and I missed getting a pic of Ben in his new jammers.  He noticed that his green ones were getting stretched out to the point that when he dived in they would fall off.  So we got him new ones.  Sarah's speedos from Costco were wearing out too.  When a swimsuit gives up its elastic, it gets pretty ugly.  So for the last week of the season, she got 2 new swimsuits from Big 5 (thank you valpack coupons).  And in our clothes cleaning out, we found a barely used Sarah suit that fit Libby.  So all new wardrobe for this meet. (Note to self, buy 3 or 4 swimsuits in the spring from Costco...they wear out quickly with everyday wear!)

I was really proud of Sarah at this meet.  Not because she won races--although she did well in a couple.  But because she decided she is determined to make more effort to get better!  She got Derek up at 7 am on Saturday to go swim laps and work on her kicking.  She was last by a lot in the 100 Y Freestyle and she never wants that to happen again.  (It was her first time swimming that event, and it is a hard one!)

Libby got her first blue ribbon (and gator necklace) in backstroke.  She is improving her times in her other races.  Of course I forgot to film her winning race.
