Shorewood Places 3rd in District

I'm not going to lie.  When we started this wrestling season, I had many many doubts about how this team would do.  It was Derek's first year coaching without Clark in many years.  It was a season where every time we turned around it seemed like our hopes were dashed.  Several key wrestlers from last year's team didn't come back.  It was heart breaking and brutal.  I gave Derek the business and just wanted him to quit.  But, Nortons don't quit.  So he persevered.  And these boys stepped up big time.  I'm so so proud of them (and the managers who supported the team!)  We are taking 12 guys next weekend to regionals.  Definitely a record of some kind.  It was a year of growth for us.  And I'm thinking that next week I will be making an announcement about a little/big change in our family as I've applied for a part-time teaching job that starts mid-March.  Trish, back in the classroom?  YES!  And I can't stop smiling.  Even if these students will be a little younger than my previous classroom experience.  Stay tuned!
